Coats for Kids: Volunteer Your Time

Coats for Kids is a success due to the tremendous support received by the community year after year. Around 2,000 volunteers work together to sort, hang and distribute the thousands of winter coats donated for Distribution Day.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Help During Sorting Week

Help prepare donated coats for distribution. (Except for Youth Sorting Night - see below - all Sorting Week volunteers MUST be at least 15 years old and must be accompanied by an adult if 15, 16, or 17 years old.)

Do you have a child that would like to volunteer?  Youth Sorting Night will be held on Monday, November 30th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. where children ages 8 and older accompanied by a parent will help sort and prepare coats.

Help on Distribution Day

Help with the distribution of coats on Distribution Day, Saturday, December 5th (Distribution Day volunteers MUST be 18 years of age or older).

Organize a Coat Drive

Organize a coat drive at your neighborhood school, place of business, community organization or place of worship.
