JOIN THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF AUSTIN

Looking for an organization that can help you make a meaningful impact in your community while developing your leadership skills? Look no further than The Junior League of Austin (JLA)!

Founded in 1934, The Junior League of Austin is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

The Junior League of Austin welcomes all women who value our mission. We are committed to inclusive environments of individuals, organizations and communities.

JLA membership is open to Austin-area women aged 25 to 40. A Provisional member is promoted to Active membership after completing all the requirements in her first year of membership. The League year begins in June.

BEING A MEMBER

Volunteer Action

Through our signature impact programs — Food In Tummies (FIT), Coats for Kids (CFK), and Kids In Cool Shoes (KICS) — we have provided weekend nourishment to 15,000 elementary school children and distributed more than 1 million coats and nearly 5,000 pairs of athletic shoes to children in need.

Each year, the League also supports more than 20 local nonprofits both financially and with hands-on volunteers.

Leadership Development

JLA members are encouraged to take on volunteer roles within the League where they can learn new skills, such as finance/accounting, volunteer management, public relations, grant writing, or fundraising. League members also have access to dozens of free or affordable training sessions on topics, including women’s health and fitness, childcare, real estate and business, entertainment, and technology.

Network Building

JLA boasts more than 2,000 members spread throughout the Greater Austin Region. Our members include women from all backgrounds and professions coming together to make a positive impact on the community. Through our new Gathering Groups, members can connect and interact with individuals who share similar interests and passions outside of volunteering.
