Looking for a way to promote your business or service and support The Junior League of Austin (JLA)?

Capitalines Spring 2020 Cover. "Capitalines Through the Years." Cover is a collage of Capitalines covers from the past.

Capitalines is now accepting advertisements for its May 2021 publication! Capitalines, the official JLA magazine publication, is issued twice a year, in addition to its special shopping guide just prior to A Christmas Affair. Capitalines is mailed to all members, whether provisional, active, or sustaining, as well as key community members and supporters. The magazine highlights unique JLA events and activities, community leaders and partners, and special resources. Previous editions of the publication can be found here.

The spring magazine reports summaries of financial, donor, and volunteer information. It also highlights successes and impacts of JLA programs throughout the year, and introduces readers to incoming leadership and new projects for the next year.  Ad sales fund the publication of the magazine.

“Beginning this year, the spring issue is digital-only,” said Ana Willingham, Capitalines Ad Sales Director. “This gives us plenty of ad space, and we hope to use the digital platform to help promote our advertisers’ businesses with links to their websites and social media. We also offer 2021 bundle rates (spring, fall, and ACA shopping guide) for advertisements and page sponsorships. Our media kit has more details on ad rates.”

While serving as an ad sales assistant for Capitalines last year, Willingham enjoyed making sales and forming relationships with advertisers. This year, she says she loves “meeting some of our League members in their professional roles outside of the League, and working with marketing/PR teams, graphic designers, and business owners in a variety of industries.”

“As a member of the Capitalines committee, it is amazing to see how the writing, ad, and design teams work together to publish a professional magazine,” Willingham said.

Benefits of Advertising in Capitalines

Whether you’re a member of the League or simply support all it has to offer, placing an ad with Capitalines has benefits across all areas of commerce. Historically, the majority of advertising partners come from the retail, restaurant, fashion, healthcare, salon, spa, home décor, home services, and real estate industries, as well as other nonprofit entities, educational and recreational activities, and other professional services.

Capitalines Demographics and Reach

“Many of our advertisers are businesses owned by League members,” said Willingham. “Some of our continued advertisers are businesses that support The Junior League of Austin’s mission and values. The diversity of advertisers is a great representation of our membership’s accomplishments outside of the League and the Austin community’s positive perception of the League. Most of our advertisers have benefited from increased traffic on their websites, increased sales at A Christmas Affair, or leads to potential clients.”
