In 1901, Mary Harriman, a 19-year-old New York debutante with a social conscience, founded the first Junior League. Her vision for improving communities by using the energy and commitment of trained volunteers inspired others around the country.

In 1921, the Association of Junior Leagues was formed to provide professional support to the Leagues, and The Junior League of Austin (JLA) was later founded on Feb. 9, 1934. Throughout our history, JLA has demonstrated its commitment to volunteerism and community service throughout its funded projects, as well as in other community placements each year.

Join us for a Spring Soiree as we celebrate 90 Years of The Junior League of Austin on April 10, 2024 from 6–9 p.m. in the Oak Grove of The Junior League of Austin’s Community Impact Center! Come dressed in your favorite spring attire (think garden party style). This will be an evening of light bites, signature cocktails, garden party games, and more. We will have sweet treats and a champagne toast to celebrate the milestones of our organization. We encourage you to invite friends, community partners, and Prospective members to this event. Funds raised from this celebration will be used to support JLA’s mission and our Centennial Campaign, which will be announced the evening of the celebration.

CHAMPAGNE TOAST

Toast to 90 years of the Junior League of Austin by purchasing a commemorative etched champagne glass with the official 90th year insignia. Each glass comes with a serving of chilled champagne to be enjoyed during the celebratory toast. Glasses can be purchased prior to the event or at the event.

Each champagne glass purchase will enter you into a drawing to win a pair of 14K white gold stunning mosaic baguette shape diamonds weighing an approximate total of .75 CTW. These earrings were graciously donated by Benold’s Jewelers with a retail value of $2,625. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $25 each or 5 for $100.
