What began in 1976 as 30 booths inside The Driskill Hotel has grown into the largest holiday market of its kind in the nation. A Christmas Affair® is The Junior League of Austin’s signature fundraiser, drawing more than 25,000 shoppers each year to browse curated merchants, shop for gifts, and celebrate the season together.

For more than five decades, A Christmas Affair® has evolved alongside Austin itself, growing from a single evening event into a week filled with shopping, themed parties, and Children’s Events – while never losing sight of why it began. Every ticket, every purchase, and every partnership funds The Junior League of Austin’s mission and signature impact programs, including Coats for Kids, FIT – Food In Tummies, and KICS – Kids In Cool Shoes.

In 2025, the League marked a golden milestone. In the 50 years of A Christmas Affair®, more than 940 women have led and planned the event since 1976, and over $27 million has been raised since its founding.

Now, A Christmas Affair® 2026 carries that legacy forward with Season of Light, honoring decades of tradition while lighting the path ahead.
